I was asked to paint a portrait of Alejandro Valverde to raise money for the “Dave Rayner Fund” - set up in memory of the late Dave Rayner to assist ambitious riders to make a successful career from cycle racing on the continent of Europe.

Valverde himself now owns the original. Twelve reproductions were made and auctioned at the annual dinner raising a substantial amount for the fund.

This painting is featured in the Gallery together with my three latest paintings. With the exception of the Valverde portrait, all the original paintings are available for sale.

In addition, and if there is sufficient interest, proportionally sized, limited edition prints can be made with a maximum length or height of 60cms (this also includes the Valverde portrait).
